Honoring Your Spiritual Legacy: The Letters You’d Like to Write
With Sarah Cortez
October 11 - 16, 2026
Inside each person resides a wealth of spiritual and emotional qualities that are the gifts of God’s grace and life experience.
We’ll use the time-honored practice of letter-writing to pen letters remembering and thanking those people whose influence has abundantly blessed us—family members, friends, mentors, strangers, and saints. The words from our hearts will flow onto the written page.
This joyful exercise will be guided by a lively exploration of historical exemplars that show us the wit or seriousness, the short anecdotes or profound paragraphs, the acute details or broad ideas that give us abundant options for writing nuanced memories and emotions.
Instruction and writing will occupy the class days until mid-afternoon. Then, participants are free
to use their time for prayer, relaxation, or exploring the beautiful grounds of the retreat center.
