Tuesday Night 7:00PM EST – Live on Zoom

Event Introduction

Join Father Tom and Brother David on Tuesday nights at 7PM for a weekly Zoom conversation called Hope and Light. Together we will discuss the contemporary challenges of the church in the modern world and answer questions you might have. It sometimes seems in popular opinion that the Church stands in an adversarial position against the world in which we live. Many contemporary issues that face us in the world today seem to come into conflict with the teachings of the Church, while on other issues many may think the Church remains silent. Still other issues, our culture would tell us the Church says one thing, but the Church herself would offer a very different perspective. Join us throughout 2021 on Tuesday evenings, starting on January 26 on Zoom with Father Tom and Brother David to explore the many issues that face the contemporary world, and discuss how the Church truly engages these issues.

Using the foundational documents of Vatican II (Gaudium et Spes and Lumen Gentium) as our guide, we will discuss a wide range of contemporary issues: the sanctity of life, marriage and the family, science and faith, and the Church and politics – to name only a few. We will learn about contemporary Saints pertaining to each issue, and join invited guests in conversations about all the questions you’ve always wanted to ask! Our world sometimes seems so dark, so it seems like the perfect time for some Hope & Light!

We look forward to a lively discussion and to getting to know you.
