Hope; The Gift of Human Kindness

Hope is one of the most precious gifts we can receive, especially when life feels uncertain, difficult, or filled with loss. Sometimes hope comes to us through the simple kindness of another person—a listening heart, a gentle word, a helping hand, or someone who quietly reminds us that we are not alone. In these moments, human kindness becomes a way of carrying hope to one another. As people of faith, we recognize that behind these acts of kindness is the presence of God, who continues to love us and sustain us even when we cannot see the way forward. This retreat invites us to discover how hope is given, how it is received, and how each of us can become a gift of hope and kindness to others.

Take a day to pause and reflect upon the call of the Lord. A Day of Recollection provides a quiet moment of prayer in our busy lives. Make some time for yourself and God, share good food, company, and a quiet place to reflect and appreciate your faith. 

The day will begin with Mass at 9 am in The Chapel of Our Lady of the Assumption.

From there, please follow the signs to our Registration area. Coffee, tea, and pastries are available before the start of the first conference at 10:30 AM. Included in this day is a hot lunch. This will be served at 12:30 in the dining hall of the Enders House, an early 20th century arts and crafts style mansion and the oldest structure on the island.
