Relics of the Saints—A day of Exploration, Veneration, a Transformation
With Fr. Demetri Belsito
June 4, 2025
Come to learn about the Church’s veneration of the relics of the saints since apostolic times. Why do we venerate the relics (bones) of holy martyrs? Why must each altar be consecrated with the relics of the saints? The relics of the saints give witness to holiness that was embodied in the flesh. Hear about miracles that have occurred through the veneration of these relics. Did you know that Enders Island has the relics of various saints—Sts. Peter and Paul, St. Edmund, St. Rita, St. Veronica, St. Anne, St. Ignatius of Loyola, St. Andrew, St. John the Evangelist, Pope John Paul XXIII, St. Philip Neri, St. Anthony of Padua, St. Joseph, St. George, St. Agatha, St. Francis de Sales, St. Clare of Assisi, St. Stanislaus Kostka, Stephen the Protomartyr, and more?
Join us to learn why the Church venerates relics, and you will have the chance to venerate some relics towards the end. Relics are truly a great grace given to men and women by God!
We invite you to join us for Holy Mass in the Chapel at 9 AM. Check-in will begin at 9:45 AM, and coffee, tea, and pastries will be available. A hot lunch will be served at 12:30 PM in the dining hall of the Enders House, an early 20th-century arts and crafts-style mansion and the oldest structure on the island.
