Climbing the Biblical Mountains of Hope: Triduum Retreat
With Fr. Richard Myhalyk , SSE
April 17 - 20, 2025
The official hymn for Jubilee Year 2025 is “Pilgrims of Hope,” which prays, “Like a flame, my hope is burning, may my song arise to you: Source of life that has no ending, on life’s path, I trust in you.”
Father Myhalyk will offer the Easter Triduum guided retreat to rekindle your hope this Holy Year of the church.
In the ancient world, mountaintops were the dwelling places of the divine. When treading holy ground, one removed one’s sandals,
honoring the holiness of the ground, the mountain, and God.
The Easter Triduum (i.e., Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter Vigil, and Easter) retreat retreatents will arrive for the Holy Thursday evening meal and Solemn Liturgy of the Lord’s Supper. They will have two Good Friday and two Holy Saturday conferences corresponding to the final four sacred mountain presentations.
The Easter triduum will focus on what threatens our hope, causes our despair, and increases our fears. What does the Paschal Mystery teach us about our powerless human condition, feelings of insignificance, and faithless choices to avoid the cross? Triduum talks focus on becoming more hopeful, fearless, and divinely preoccupied so that we acquire a new, transformative life.
