Understanding Your Grief - Fourth Session
With Linda Whelan
Open Dates
When someone you love dies, it can be challenging to make sense of the complex and painful thoughts and feelings surrounding your loss. Understanding Your Grief, based on the book and workbook by Dr. Alan Wolfelt, will guide you through this difficult journey. Together, we’ll explore the 10 touchstones—or trail markers—that highlight essential physical, emotional, cognitive, and social signs to look for as you navigate your grief.
This program will help you understand the key difference between grief and mourning, focusing on the need to acknowledge death and embrace the pain of losing someone you love.
We’ll also discuss the various factors that make your grief unique, as well as the normal thoughts and emotions you may experience.
The promise of Jesus’ Resurrection brings healing and hope amidst grief and sorrow. Reflecting on how this promise can bring you peace is an essential part of grieving, especially for those of faith.
Understanding Your Grief is led by Linda Whelan. She will use the book “Understanding Your Grief: Ten Essential Touchstones for Finding Hope and Healing Your Heart” by Alan D. Wolfelt, PhD, as a resource.
Registration will include a copy of this book.
