Deacon Michael and Mary Frances Berstene
Deacon Michael and Mary Frances Berstene live in Tolland where they are active at the Blessed Sacrament Parish with churches in Rockville-Vernon and Tolland. Deacon Michael has been a deacon in the Diocese of Norwich for 32 years. He is currently a Paulist Deacon Affiliate. He has served as the Director of Deacons for the Diocese of Norwich and is the former director of the Maryknoll Deacon Mission Partners program. He was the director of planning and development for the Diaconate Institute at the Pontifical College Josephinum. Mary Frances is a lector, communion minister, bible study leader and coordinates the marriage preparation for our parish. She is a former Catholic school teacher, faith formation director.
Deacon Michael and Mary Frances have lead retreats for deacons and wives and for married couples across the country. From 2015 through 2019 they led the married couples retreats at St Edmund Retreat.
