Deacon Thomas Evrard

Deacon Tom Evrard served Pastoral Associate at St. Ignatius Parish, Long Beach, NY and is currently assigned to Our Lady of Peace Parish, Lynbrook, NY. He was Administrator of the St. Ignatius Jesuit Retreat House, Manhasset, NY for 1 year until its sale and closing.
 
Deacon Tom served 5 years in the United States Marine Corps; He retired from Benjamin Moore Paints as an Architectural Representative and Salesman. He received his B.A. from the University of the Americas;  He received his Master of Arts in Theology from the Seminary of the Immaculate Conception, Huntington, NY in 1991.
 
Ordained a Deacon for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Rockville Center, NY in 2000, his duties include: Sacramental ministries; Tribunal Advocate; Substance abuse counseling; Preaching; wake and prayers services, facilitator of days of recollection, prayer and reflection. Virtus Facilitator. He serves as Chaplain for the Long Beach, NY Police Department and Exempt Fire Department.
 
He has been a Retreat Director for 15 years especially with 12 Step Groups and is member of a Matt Talbot Group #54 since 1981.
 
Deacon Tom and his wife Gwen will celebrate 47 years of marriage in September, 2016. They have 2 children, and 2 grandchildren.
