Derek Cooper

Derek has been the leading drummer for the Ulster Scottish Pipe Band since 2003. Derek also has played with Oran Mor and with Simon Fraser University. He joined Inverary and District in 2015. Over those years, Derek has won four World Pipe Band Championships and three World Championship Drum Corps titles. Some highlights of Derek’s solo accomplishments include  North American Champion, EUSPBA Champion, five-time winner of the North American Gold Medal for Drumming at Winter Storm and the first American drummer to compete in the Finals of the World Solo Drumming Championships in Glasgow (2008, 2010, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2022)
