Fr. James Steuterman
Father Steuterman is a Catholic priest of the Diocese of Worcester, Massachusetts. He has been a priest for 50 years and is now enjoying retirement.
Most of his ministry he was a parish priest in several parishes in Central Massachusetts. In addition he began a ministry of recovery for alcoholics and addicts. He is a certified counselor in the State and holds a Masters degree in counseling in addition to his theology degree. He worked full time as a counselor at Adcare Hospital in Worcester, a specialized hospital for recovery. He also worked as the house counselor at Crozier House, a halfway house for men in recovery.
He has spent the last four decades teaching, lecturing, and working with individuals in recovery, as well as serving the Diocese in helping priests to enter into recovery. In recent years, he has worked with Food For The Poor, a relief organization based in Florida. Pastoral trips to Guatemala and Honduras led him to be a mission speaker in parishes around the United States. These days, in retirement, he does retreat work, Days of Reflection, and ministers in a number of parishes to free pastors from their busy schedules.
