Fr. Ken Schmidt, J.C.D., L.P.C.

Clinical Director and co-founder of Trauma Recovery Associates, Fr. Ken Schmidt, J.C.D., L.P.C., is based in the Diocese of Kalamazoo serving as Pastor of St. Catherine’s Parish, Advocate for Priestly Ministry and Support, Judicial Vicar of its Marriage Tribunal, and Pastoral Care Coordinator and Sacramental Minister at Nazareth Center, the assisted living center for retired Sisters of St. Joseph.

Fr. Schmidt is a canonist and a Licensed Professional Counselor who has published in areas of psychology, spirituality, pastoral theology, and canon law.

Among accolades for his work in priest wellness and trauma recovery, Fr. Schmidt is the 2018 recipient of the Western Michigan University Keystone Meritorious Achievement Award, which honors outstanding graduates from the College of Education and Human Development at Western Michigan University who have made significant contributions to their chosen profession. Fr. Schmidt’s most recent books includeConscious Contact with God: The Psalms for Addiction and Recovery and You Have Set Us Free: Scriptural Reflections for Trauma Survivors, both published by Liturgical Press.
