Len Mattano

Len Mattano is an author and physician who led a childhood cancer
program in southwest Michigan for 18 years. In 2009 he and his family
moved to Mystic, Connecticut, where he has focused on drug
development, research, and writing. He is an avid photographer and
devotee of the arts, history, philosophy, and theology—all of which
texture his writing. His inspirational suspense novel, Celtic
Crossing, was published by Paraclete Press in 2019, and is the first
volume of a planned trilogy. When not home, Len and his wife work from
their strictly seasonal oceanside cabin in East Boothbay, Maine.

Len’s interest in creative writing began during his teen years.
Extensive travel in Europe, as well as a pilgrimage to the Holy Land
led by Fr. Thomas Hoar, SSE, of St. Edmund’s Retreat, inspired much of
the landscape for Celtic Crossing. His photos of the stained glass
windows in the Chapel of Our Lady at Enders Island are featured in a
set of greeting cards and mugs available in the gift shop.
