Patricia O’Connor
Patricia O’Connor is a nurse practitioner who has spent a career spanning over 4 decades working in hospice, primary care and palliative care. Pat was head nurse at The Connecticut Hospice, the first free standing hospice in the United States for the first 6 years of its operation. She then worked in direct
care and supervision of community hospices.
After attaining her master’s degree, she worked as a primary care provider in Connecticut for 20 years.
During that time, she attained board certification in hospice/palliative care. She and her dear colleague, David Ross Russell, MD worked together to educate other primary care providers in hospice and palliative care at the primary level as well as doing palliative care consultations for other providers.
In 2015, Pat moved to NH to work on a newly forming specialty palliative care team out of Concord Hospital. After leaving that job to care for her own dad. She wrote the book titled Navigating Life’s Final Journey: Conversations, Choices, Resources in order to more widely share her knowledge and positively impact end-of-life for all. She enjoys speaking to groups near and far about this topic. She is a member and lector at Immaculate Conception Parish in Andover, NH
