Trauma Recovery Training
With Fr. Ken Schmidt, J.C.D., L.P.C.
September 8 - 9, 2026
St. Edmund’s Retreat is pleased to offer local clinicians, pastoral ministers, educators, and law enforcement access to a premier training program to become trauma-informed in their professional work with teen and/or adult populations.
Trauma Recovery Associates is a clinical practice and training program whose goal is to create a safer and healthier world by breaking the cycle of trauma. The renowned TRA program was established and developed by Catholic clinicians following the outbreak of sex-abuse scandals that rocked the Catholic Church and the Boy Scouts in the United States. Since then, TRA has educated and fostered the development of organizational leaders, human service providers, and trauma survivors themselves to respond more effectively to the impact of childhood trauma. Over twenty years, TRA has empowered thousands in 23 states and seven countries with trauma-informed knowledge and strategies to bring healing to individuals, families, and communities.
St. Edmund’s Retreat is inviting our neighbors who work in ministries, health care, law enforcement, education, and other professions to take this intensive training and join us in fostering trauma-informed awareness in our local community.
As a special introductory offer just for the first year of our annual TRA training program, the fee of $400 has been reduced 50% to $200 per person for both days, including morning coffee, lunches, and refreshments.
